Hard plastic cups have the advantage that they are often extra transparent and therefore look nicer.
However, keep in mind that any hard plastic cup will suffer minuscule damage (micro cracks or discoloration) when used frequently in an industrial dishwasher and will therefore not last forever; Also ensure that these cups are not stacked together during the cooling phase before they have completely cooled down.
