WHY DOES THE MEUBILAR CHOICE?

Professional caregivers recommend that if your hips are lower than your knees when you sit, your chair may be too low. Furnitureists make a chair, seat or bed higher, making it more comfortable to use.

1. Measure the distance from the floor to the back of the knee when the person wears the shoes
which she normally wears at home (top figure 1).

2.For seats: measure the height from the floor to the top of the seat when pressed, as if someone is sitting in the chair.For beds; measure the height from the floor to the top of the mattress when pressed, as if someone is sitting on the edge of the bed (bottom figure 1).

3. Pull the leg size off the height measurement and the difference will tell you how much higher the seat or mattress should be.

It is important to raise every leg that has a contact point with the floor. They should all be raised by the same height. Do not increase the furniture too high, as this is uncomfortable and can cause long-term problems.

Which raiser should I use?

In this section we have included useful guidelines to choose the best suitable furniture demanders for the different types of furniture.

What furniture aren't you supposed to raise?

Although it may be possible to increase a two or three seater sofa, it is always better to raise a single chair or seat. A 2 or 3 seater is a common piece of furniture, which makes it very often used by different types and sizes of persons. The person for whom the piece of equipment has been raised will also lose the advantage of using both armrests when standing or sitting down. We do not recommend our bikers for electric stand-on seats.

The coupled design has the highest level of stability, fully assembled in an easy to assemble package. The carrying surface is at the bottom of the square piece, so they are ideal for thin legs. Height adjustable inserts are included to change height from 5-10 cm depending on user needs.

Coupled bikers are the safest way to increase furniture. They are very stable even for those who are going to sit down with force. Multi-purpose Raiser components can be used to build a stable raiser for most armchairs, beds and sofas, but can also be removed without damaging or modifying the furniture.

The Langham Multi-Purpose Raiser was carefully developed using over 30 years of design and production experience in increasing furniture, coupled with feedback received from ergotherapists. High quality strong plastic is easy to clean by hand or with mechanical processes, giving a very long life span. The unique pivoting head means that the same booster can be used on the head, middle or foot of a bed, or perfectly placed under all kinds of seats;

The booster is carrying above - and in the well, so it is very suitable for furniture with wheels, solid base pieces, large wooden blocks resting on top, or large wooden legs fitting inside. The inside of the headpiece measures 15 cm x10 cm.

The reachable range is:

Lay-X furniture holders fit tightly on the seat legs and can even be suitable if the legs have a curve or spread position. A smooth dome base at the bottom allows easy movement of the chair over the floor, making these bikers ideal for dining chairs, or a chair under a desk. Internal cross blocks (see picture) can be added to lift the chair to the desired height, from 7.6- 12.7 cm.

The Grip-On pushers are very versatile and will work with furniture on wheels or legs. Using the unique donut they hold the furniture without tools. This means that the raiser is attached to the furniture while maintaining it without damaging it, and has much increased safety compared to cone hogs and extra reassurance for the user. The raiser consists of individual parts of 2.5 cm. By default it comes as a set of four with an increase of 7.5 cm. If you need a higher one, you should carefully carry out a risk assessment.

Silva Cubes are attractive hardwood hoists, in a choice of two height options. They are a good choice when a chair has to be raised up a few centimeters while it has a traditional appearance. The 10 cm Silva Cube has three cutouts for different leg widths: 3 cm, 4.7 cm and 7.5 cm. The 15 cm Silva cube is attached to a base to give more stability and has a saving of 7.5 cm . Each Langham SureGrip has a double grip to hold furniture and furniture firmly with a generous weight limit of 700 kg including the chair or bed.

The increaser is turned to give a variable altitude range:
