How do you securely lock your child in the car?

Children are extra vulnerable in the car, so it is essential to secure them properly. Here are the steps to securely fasten your child:

In the car seat:
  1. Check that the shoulder straps of the car seat are at the right height, usually adjustable. They must leave at the child's shoulder height.
  2. Click on the child with all straps provided in the car seat and make sure that they rest flat (not turned) on the body.
  3. Tighten the straps sufficiently; it may have a maximum of 1 cm slot. This means that you can just push your finger between the strap and the child's shoulders.
  4. During the ride check regularly that your child does not wring himself out of the straps.
In the booster cushion:
  1. Click on the seat belt of the car to hold your child. The upper part of the belt must also leave at shoulder height so that it cannot cut into the child's neck. The correct height can be adjusted via the red seat back belt guide.
  2. Make sure that the belt is flat on the body (not twisted). The upper part runs diagonally from the shoulder to the other hip where it is clicked. The lower part lies flat on your hips (not over your abdomen) and runs under the armrests of the raise cushion.
  3. Tighten the seat belt.
  4. If the cushion has a backrest and headrest, set it to the right height. The child's head must not reach above the headrest.
  5. During the ride check that the child does not unseat or inserts the belt under his arm.

The correct clinging of your child into the car is essential for their safety while driving.
