What to do if your electric Vela chair doesn't work anymore?

What to do if your electric Vela chair doesn't work anymore?

(battery, charger, fuse and drive)

Step 1: Check that the seat goes up and down.

  1. If the seat goes up and down alone without load, go to step 2A.
  2. If the seat only goes up or down, go to step 4A.
  3. If the seat does not do anything, but the engine makes a click sound when the switch is activated, go to step 2B.
  4. If the seat does not do anything and the engine does not make a clicking sound when the switch is activated, go to step 3A.

Step 2: Check the battery and charger.

  1. Check that the battery has enough power. The battery must have around 13v when fully charged.
If less than 13v, it should be charged until the indicator on the charger lights up in green.
If the indicator of the charger does not change color, go to step 2B.
  2. When the charger is in the socket, the indicator must be green, if not, then go to step 2C.
  3. If there is no light on the charger, then the chargers are defective and need to be replaced. Please contact your distributor for this.
  4. When charging the seat, the indicator must change from green to orange. If not, go to step 2E.
  5. If the indicator stays green, the battery is defective and needs to be replaced. Please contact your distributor for this.
  6. If the indicator turns orange, but turns green again within seconds, the battery is defective and needs to be replaced. Please contact your distributor for this.

Step 3: Fault.

  1. If the engine control does not click when the switch is activated, then check that the fuse has not been burnt (fuse is located under the seat behind the actuator,F.)
If the fuse is not burnt out, check that the wires are connected to the battery.
If the fuse is in order and the wires are in place, go to step 2A
If the actuator is still not working, go to 4A.

Step 4: Actuator/Drive.

  1. If the actuator does not work, check the contacts on the seat (armrest, handbox, external contacts). If possible, try using another switch (replace armrest) that you know works (contact your distributor for this). If the actor does work with the other switch, the switch must be replaced. Contact your distributor.
If the actuator is not working yet, go to step 2A.
  2. If the actuator does not work after all steps, it should be replaced.
    Contact your distributor for this.
