Why the First Sun Is Dangerous: Understand the Risks

After the long winter months, the arrival of the spring sun is often received with open arms. But although the first rays of sunshine can bring a feeling of warmth and joy, they also carry risks for our skin. But why is the first sun so dangerous?

1. Unprepared Skin:
  • Although the first spring sun is not as intense as the sun in the summer months, it still shines on a skin that is unprepared. Our skin needs time to build up a defence mechanism in the form of pigment, but this does not happen overnight. It takes several weeks for our skin to build enough pigment to protect itself from the sun.
2. Stimulating Pigment Production:
  • To accelerate the natural protection of the skin, you can stimulate pigment production by consuming certain foods. Foods such as carrots, tomatoes, blueberries and cucumber contain substances such as carotene, lycopene and anti-inflammatory substances that can promote pigment production.
3. Skin Preparation:
  • You can also prepare your skin for the sun by scrubbing regularly. By scrubbin twice a week, you remove dead skin cells and promote even and deeper pigmentation of the skin.
4. Pay attention to Self-tanners:
  • The use of self-tanners may seem an alternative to getting a tanned skin, but it is important to note that self-browners do not provide protection against UV radiation. Therefore, it is essential to combine self-burners with adequate UV protection to protect the skin from sun damage.

By consciously dealing with the first rays of sunshine and preparing our skin in the right way, we can enjoy the beautiful spring sun without increasing the risk of harmful effects on our skin.
