Pressure Ulcer Positioning Pad

The 30° pressure ulcer wedge developed by the Asklé brand is a positioning device intended for unloading the areas of the sacrum and trochanter in case of prolonged bed rest.

Patients forced to lie down during their recovery are subjected to skin pressure at certain prominent bony prominences, which can cut off the vascularization of the cells, causing more or less significant necrosis of the deep layers of the epidermis.

These sores develop all the more quickly and prove to be all the more painful when the patient cannot stand up easily.

Thanks to its pyramidal shape, the Asklé Pressure Ulcer Positioning Wedge can lift the patient's side up to a 30° angle to relieve pressure on the sacrum and trochanter. It is made from an ALOVA molded viscoelastic foam, unique to the brand, which evenly distributes the pressure points around the protrusion.

It is placed directly on the mattress, on one side or in the middle, allowing the patient to switch sides regularly. The wide base provides good stability, while the soft and airy fabric cover leaves a comfortable feeling on the skin. The latter is removable and can be washed to maintain hygiene.
