Sun cream and insect repellent medium: What's the first thing?
If you need to apply both sunscreen and anti-mosquito product, follow these guidelines to ensure their optimal operation:
1. What do you first lubricate: anti-mosquito product or sun cream?
When applying both products it is advisable to apply the sunscreen and then the anti-mosquito product. This ensures that solar protection is effective before applying the insect repellent.
2. Tips to keep the product working:
- Withdrawal period: After applying the sunscreen, leave at least 30-45 minutes before applying the anti-mosquito product. This will give the sun cream time to absorb and form a protective layer before applying your anti-muggling product.
- Use of high SPF solar products: Since the application of an insect repellent can reduce the efficiency of solar filters, it is wise to use solar products with a high protection factor (SPF) to compensate for this decrease.
- Choose perfume-free sun cream: To prevent sweet smells from attracting mosquitoes, it is advisable to use a perfume-free or neutral sun cream.
- Do not use any combination products: Avoid the use of sunscreen combination products with an insect-repellent. The separate application of both products allows you to follow the instructions for use of each product carefully.
- Re-apply after water contact: Please note that mosquito-resistant products are not waterproof. After a dive or a swim, the anti-mosquite product must be re-applyed for continuous protection.
- Caution when using DEET: Especially in children, caution should be exercised when using DEET in combination with solar products, as sun products may increase the absorption of DEET through the skin.
By following these guidelines, you can stay protected from the sun as well as annoying insects, while maintaining the optimal effect of both products.
