Ribcap beschermt − niet zoals een helm, maar wel veel meer dan een gewone muts, dankzij de ingenaaide protectoren. Het binnenste van de muts bestaat uit zachte visco-elastische protectoren in plaats van uit een harde schaal. In tegenstelling tot hard materiaal, dat bij een schok ofwel zijn vorm houdt, ofwel breekt, neemt het visco-elastische materiaal een andere vorm aan, waardoor het de energie van de schok kan absorberen. Dat is zachte bescherming.

WHAT KIND OF INJURIES DOES THE RIBCAP HELP PREVENT?
Every injury is different and every fall or shock has different consequences. The Ribcap offers good protection in the event of a fall on slippery surfaces (e.g. ski slopes, ice rinks or snowy roads) or when you bump your head against rounded objects , but offers little protection against sharp objects (e.g. a ski pole) due to the soft protective material .
